The old Mamateek hotel get more than a facelift. originally built in the 1950's, it was high time for a change. Now named Quality Inn. This beautiful renovated  hotel overlooking the beautiful city of Corner Brook and Bay of Islands in western Newfoundland. Conveniently located near shopping centers  With a full service restaurant and friendly and accommodating staff .

The Day's Inn transformed into a Boutique Hotel 
A lot of our inspiration referred to the winter climate of Quebec ,  yet keeping the atmosphere up and coming,  as it is located in  the prime district of Place Des Art. 
Formerly this dated , gloom and dreary space, got a TOC (touch of class) make-over. 
We wanted to project a sense of openness, warmth and an inviting atmosphere. By adding touches of rich oranges and red , comfortable seating and excellent lighting.
We were very conscious of every design move, but you can still have a rich palette and a modern touch 
It’s all about balance, weather you are designing a lobby, restaurant or guest room it is important to keep the clientele happy and wanting to come back.
Today Mr. Manuel Vasquez is amazed by repeat business and the demand for guest room bookings.

Lauri's Boutique

Have you ever thought about how different it is to design a retail store than it is to design a house? Where would you start for example? Also, how would you design the interior? In a store, one of the main priorities is to make the space feel appealing to the costumers and to make them feel welcomed and comfortable. Each retail store does that in its own way. The emphases should be on the merchandise.

Elizabeth owner and entrepreneur of Lauri's boutique had the image in mind and wanted to create a space that was inviting, and fresh.

It has a cozy atmosphere and a clean and very feminine interior décor. The walls are painted very pale grey and the store also features metal chrome accents and vintage furniture. The combination of colors, textures and materials is beautifully balanced.

When designing Retail space it is important to think of yourself as a brand. You need to be remembered.

Interior Designer's HOME OFFICE

TOC design Headquarters gets a makeover. AGAIN
As an architectural designer working & meeting customers from a home office, it behooves me to have on-hand hundreds if not thousands of samples; from materials like tile sample-boards, counter-tops, flooring & molding examples, wall coverings, fabrics, different functional lighting technologies, home hardware & electronics, paint chips, media tech catalogs, magazines, inspirational interior design books, decorative items, and so much more.
 But this is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of a functional, ergonomic & organized office space dedicated to design creativity while satisfying the customer's experience that he is working with a true professional...after all would you trust a designer that boasts organization but spends hours during your consultation rummaging stacks of boxes and leaning towers of doodads for this or that?
Not likely, "Captain obvious!"
The importance of a properly designed home office ( especially when the space is also used as a meeting-place/showroom ) entails the comfort & positive experience of your customer in the following manner:
1. Exclusive office space with its own entrance separate from rest of home.
2. Ergonomic customer seating and ample presentation surfaces.
3. Dedicated customer computer screen(s) detailing CAD drawings & presentation in a show and tell manner.
4. Proper lighting ( LED lighting has come a long way )
5. Practical design touches ( hooks for purses, coats, umbrella stand, refreshments area, guest WIFI, etc...) 
One of the greatest benefits of a home office is the freedom to design it with a distinct identity. In other words, we shouldn’t blend the workplace with the rest of our personal space, aka home.
Whether you call your "home office" a blessing or a curse, one thing’s for sure, your mood, productivity and most importantly the perception of your clients will be affected by how it is set up. Just as a cluttered desk is a cluttered mind, a disorganized home office may be the source of unnecessary mind-blocks to new ideas and solutions.


Condo units 204 & 206 on Pierce street

This Condo unit got a full renovation, from electrical to the final details. When I first visited Mr. Miller's Condos in Montreal, it was in very bad shape, renters had destroyed the place and it was very dated. Mr. Miller was not able to sell his space as it was not only dated but in very bad shape. The total square footage of both units was 1900. We decided that the best way to enhance this very large space for a down town condo would be to divide into 2 units.
Each unit has it's own kitchen, living room, 2 bathrooms, 2 laundry rooms and 2 bedrooms. A full renovation was giving to building codes standards with updated materials and products. A true gem in the heart of Montreal.

“The thing that was most important to us was having a welcoming home,” Tammy says. “We wanted a place that’s accommodating for our family and for company—we’re always having people over.”
The decorating project had to have core values, everything being timeless, comfortable, durable, and functional.  They need a house that’s beautiful but also very livable, warm, and inviting.
I think we did just that.
